The Medical Directory of Australia (MDA) is the country's leading online medical database used to search and locate doctors and health facilities nationwide.
First published in 1948, the MDA is trusted by doctors, hospitals and professionals across many sectors for over 60 years. It has continued to evolve and meet the ever-changing needs of Australian businesses and the medical community.
The MDA progressed to CD-Rom format in 1999 to give time-poor doctors and businesses the information at their fingertips and enable them to search and locate multiple records at the same time. As technology rapidly developed over the decade so did the MDA and in 2010 the online version was launched, replacing the CD and the need to install and download software.
MDA Online now contains over 140,000 practitioner and facility records and counting. In its most recent and up-to-date format, the MDA Online is updated daily, with accurate information available immediately to anybody who has a current MDA Online Account.
All personal and business listings on MDA Online are free of charge and doctors are able to log in to their profile and advise us of any changes, ensuring their information is as up-to-date as possible.
MDA Online is published by AMPCo, the Australasian Medical Publishing Company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian Medical Association and also publishes the highly regarded Medical Journal of Australia.
MDA Online runs on all major browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer (version 9 onwards) and Javascript must be enabled (default setting). Note that Internet Explorer will get less support in the future as it is being phased out.
